creativesoundblaster (and the csc media center) are actually a hardware combination of components. in the interest of keeping the code simple, this driver does not assume that the csc media center hardware has been fully configured by the operating system. it simply assumes that the csc unit has an on-board speaker and will drive the speakers to a level that is appropriate for the os configured volume level. creativesoundblasterpcies1370driver requires a mix of audio hardware and bios bios (using the information supplied in the creative creative sound blaster x-fi data sheet) to work. the sound card chip in the creative sound blaster x-fi card is the creative sound blaster x-fi. the bios in the creative sound blaster x-fi card is the creative sound blaster x-fi bios main. note: this driver currently does not detect the mixing control that is described in the data sheet. if you have a sound card that supports using the creative sound blaster x-fi bios main (available as a bios update), then it is recommended to use this bios. if you want to use the version of the bios described in the data sheet, then you will need to use the creative sound blaster x-fi bios main as part of the os install process. to use this driver, you need a creative sound blaster x-fi sound card with a bios capable of using the creative sound blaster x-fi bios main (as described above). you also need an os with a creative sound blaster x-fi driver and any mixers that are available in your hardware configuration. you can download the creative sound blaster x-fi bios main from the creative sound blaster x-fi download center. the mixer that is available as part of the os should be used to adjust the volume.
