Recommendation: We highly recommend that most Windows users (unless you are advanced) download a driver update tool like DriverDoc [Download DriverDoc - Product by Solvusoft] to help update your Iomega ZIP Drive drivers. This tool does all of the work for you by downloading and updating your 100MB Parallel Port drivers automatically, preventing you from installing the wrong drivers for your operating system version.

Zip 100MB Parallel Port errors may be linked to corrupt or outdated drivers of your computer. When the operating system that your device depends on gets an update, drivers can suddenly stop working with it. The good news is that you can often update the device driver to fix the ZIP Drive problem.
Finding the exact driver for your Zip 100MB Parallel Port-related hardware device can be extremely difficult, even directly on the Iomega or related manufacturer's website. Even if you have the expertise, finding, downloading, and updating Zip 100MB Parallel Port drivers can still be a tedious and messy process. An improper driver download can lead to issues with software and harm the functionality of the computer.
This option requires basic OS understanding.Select Your Operating System, download zipped files, and then proceed tomanually install them.Recommended if Iomega Zip 100 is the only driver on your PC you wish to update.
My original intention was to wipe Windows 10 from the Dell machine and install Linux to see if I could get Linux to access the Zip drive. But, on second thoughts, I decided I might have a better chance in Windows because my research on the Web had already indicated that several people had successfully used Iomega Zip 100 parallel-port drives with Windows XP running in a virtual machine under Windows 10. I carefully followed a detailed article on how to do this using VirtualBox (How to use iomega zip 100 with parallel port on a windows 10 computer (so long as you have a free PCI slot)), but the Zip drive would not work with the Dell machine. I tried every BIOS option for the parallel port; I tried allowing Windows XP to install the driver; I installed the last official Iomega issue of the driver for Windows XP. Nothing worked.
The Iomega zip 100 (type 1) USB\VID Code consists of a few parts that is relative to the hardware. The "USB\VID _" is the first part of the number that relates to the manufacturer, Iomega has the USB\VID code of USB\VID_059B. The individual part identification code for this device is the "&PID_" number, in this case it is Zip 100 (Type 1) PID_0001 which is a Zip 100 (Type 1) device. If the usb device is not working or seems very slow then it is likely that the driver is not installed correctly, old or broken. Designed specifically to be used with the Iomega Zip 100 (Type 1) device, the list of free downloads below is the most up-to-date drivers that we hold on record for the Iomega Zip 100 (Type 1) device.
There are some alternative drivers such as commercial PalmZip, which can work under DOS with very old computers (8086). Notice difference between ZIP 100 and 250MB in reflective surface (250MB on the right). Record=it was a sound streaming application which allowed to record sound directly to a ZIP disk. Not only IOMega made ZIPs, and many companies made accessories for ZIP drives: media towers or carrying bags which made a normal ZIP drive an easy portable device.
I have an old Iomega Zip USB Drive and cartridges. It is all well kept, except I don't have the drivers. Would love to have Mac drivers or even windows one will do. I downloaded the ones from Vogon Vintage Driver Library but nothing seems to happen after installation. They don't even show in Device Manager (I am not conversant much with Windows). The Zip Cartridges I have contain old portfolio files I would love to access. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello! I had VMWare Workstation 4 for some time and it worked preferctly for pre-Vista Windows versions. I recently decided to create a new machine and install Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (final version) for testing. Everything was fine except for network and audio. I wasn't able to install either a Windows 2000 or a Windows XP driver, even in compatibility mode. I then downloaded from your site VMWare Wordkstation 5.5.1 I unistalled version 4 and installed version 5. Thankfully the Vista virtual machine opened and updated without any issue and I was able to start it. I uninstalled VMWare utilities on the guest and reinstalled them. As a result network was installed successfully but the problem with audio remained. I downloaded Windows XP drivers for Ensoniq ES1371 and tried to install them in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. After a long period there was a blue screen stating that there was a problem with the file sbpci.sys[/b] Trying again in Windows 2000 compatibility mode didn't help.
When trying to install the Vista drivers for the Audigy 2, the installer says that the card doesn't exist on the system whether I keep or remove the Ensoniq card in the device manager. Yup. I do have the audigy 2 specified as my audio card for the VM in the settings.
Hello! I had done so many changes in Windows Vista and I finally managed to lose the sound driver and I was unable to reinstall it. Windows Update reported the update is already installed and when I tried to uninstall or repair it, there wasn't on the update list! I was fed up and decided to delete the virtual machine. I also uninstalled VMWare Workstation 5 and installed 6 Beta to have as much Vista compatibility as possible. I created a new virtual machine, version 6 type, with 2 CPUs, 512MB RAM, 16GB IDE hard disk (primary master with type set to bus logic), a CD-ROM (secondary slave), 16MB graphics memory etc. I set the guest OS type to Windows Vista to make sure I will have the correct hardware and I will later install the right version of VMWare Tools. I then proceeded to boot the "Windows Vista" virtual machine and install Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. The installation completed without any issues. And I then had the network and sound problem again. I first enabled all Windows features, just in case I need one of these for networking. After the required restart, I setup my serial modem (automatically recognised as Rockwell 56K external and worked without issue) and I downloaded just the Ensonic ES1371/ES1373 driver from Windows Update. That's it! My sound problem is fixed! And this time I can play any sound without any problem! In VMWare Workstation 5 I had the device installed but there was no sound from the speakers!
BUG REPORT FOR DEVELOPERS: I had some windows open in Windows Vista and I didn't like to loase them. So I decided to Hibernate rather than shutdown the virtual machine. When I tried to resume the system VMWare Workstation crashed and returned to Home. So I had to start the virtual machine again, delete the hibernation data and load Windows Vista normally. I have a screenshot of the error message and I could send it to you, but I'm posting this from another computer. Let me know if you are interested. The error was referring to the audio device.
1) The game port (Unsupported Gameport for Creative) has the driver installed but it complains about not having enough resources to operate. I searched a bit to resolve that, but I didn't manage to do so. It's not important, but I would prefer every single device to function as expected in my virtual machine, no matter if I ever use it or not...
Note: When configuring an Iomega Zip drive as a parallel port device, be aware that on a Windows 9x guest operating system you need to obtain new drivers. Older drivers for the Iomega Zip drive may cause the guest operating system to lock up intermittently at boot time or during installation of the operating system. The newest Iomega drivers work reliably in tests conducted by VMware. They are available at:
However, an EIDE ATAPI Iomega Zip drive runs in compatibility mode ondual-boot Windows 95/98 configurations. If you boot Windows 95 or Windows 98 from a raw disk (dual-bootsituation) and configure your EIDE ATAPI Zip drive as an available device whenWindows is running under VMware GSX Server as a guest operating system, the Iomegadrivers/software runs in compatibility mode (rather than 32 bitmode) after that, even when you are running Windows natively.
