[S5E17] The Ghosts Of The Past
[S5E17] The Ghosts Of The Past
In Hi Five Ghost's Halloween story "Going up" in the "Terror Tales of the Park V" episode, Fives is trying to get to Celia's floor at her apartment building while trying to get past the Elevator Repairman, who is later revealed to be a ghost haunting the broken elevator for 40 years. When the repairman grabs Fives, Celia is shown concern for her boyfriend when he is in trouble.
Dr. Charles and Goodwin fear Dr. Halstead is repeating his past mistakes when a patient with early-onset Alzheimer's is brought into the E.D. Maggie and Ben become concerned when one of Ben's students is admitted. Dr. Manning and Dr. Marcel treat a terminally ill patient and disagree over the best course of action.
John Nolan was the oldest rookie in the LAPD and has used his life experience, determination and sense of humor to keep up with rookies 20 years his junior. Now he is being given a chance to decide where he wants his career to go within the LAPD. However, life is never that easy as he and his team are faced with complications from the past that will influence their future.
In an attempt at damage control, Logan later hunts Rory down in the newsroom to gauge how pissed off this sighting made her. She plays it so cool that she doesn't even stop typing as she reminds him that they both agreed to a "no strings attached" situation. Of course, Logan assumes that he'll be the only one seeing other people and is immediately jealous when Rory shows up at Finn's birthday party with Robert. I'm actually surprised that there's not some disgusting bro code that dictates Robert can't ask Rory out because she's already dating Logan. Based on Logan's shock after seeing them together, it doesn't even seem like Robert ran it past him, which makes me like him even more. Rory isn't Logan's property, dammit ... they're not even in a committed relationship.
The big, exciting development in their relationship is that Luke finally learns how to use speed dial. When Emily Gilmore shows up at the diner and screams at him, he immediately dials Lorelai and doesn't even say anything, just lets her listen to Emily's rant. After Lorelai ghosts on Friday night dinner yet again, Emily assumes it's because she and Luke still aren't back together. Her misguided assumption was that Lorelai's absence was directly related to the break-up, not necessarily her sabotage. It's very satisfying when Lorelai shows up to rescue Luke and screams at Emily to "shut up." The eventual resolution to this stalemate is unsatisfying, but I do appreciate the maternal relationship tension.
Paige and Phoebe are talking about Piper's past relationships. Leo and Piper are arguing. Leo is walking away and Piper accidentally blows up a door in her anger. This worries Paige and Phoebe. Phoebe and Paige try to help them work it out. But Leo insists that it's not their problem. Phoebe schedules Leo and Piper to see a mortal marriage counsellor, with Paige explaining that their problems are marital, not supernatural. They both agree.
As Leo and Piper retell their past experiences in an effort to rekindle their love for each other, Phoebe and Paige find themselves watching those same experiences play out. They see a flashback of Phoebe checking out Leo. Paige is confused and Phoebe says that it's her from about 5 years ago. Paige is disgusted that Phoebe has hit on Leo before. They find themselves in the attic where Dantalian is stealing the Book of Shadows. They stay hidden and see past-Phoebe and past-Piper torturing Dantalian. They also see them literally freeze Leo and shatter him to pieces. Paige and Phoebe try to orb out, but they are "bounced back".
Piper and Leo continue to talk, then, the marriage counsellor asks them to talk about their wedding. Paige and Phoebe are flashed to the scene of Leo and Piper's wedding (Prue briefly appears in this scene in footage reused from Just Harried), and after Kit, their cat, comes up to them, the warlock blinks in. He seems
