Family And Friends 6 Testing And Evaluation Book Pdf 63 [EXCLUSIVE]
The central contribution of this book is that it illustrates in a comprehensive, insightful, and sophisticated way the strengths and weaknesses of the various conceptions of teacher evaluation, including both direct and proxy methods of teacher assessment, and the conceptual and technical problems that arise in thinking about the evaluation and compensation of teachers.
In this report, we highlight the need for a comprehensive, data-driven evaluation of American schools and for reforms that would improve student learning by providing teachers with the professional support they need to create effective schools. There is no substitute for years of research into what makes good schools great, and many high-quality research efforts have already been conducted. It is time for policymakers and school leaders to put these findings to work to transform American education. We present some of this research and policy options, while offering a path for states to follow as they work to reform their education systems.
Readers who are familiar with many of the papers in this book may find the authors conclusion unsettling because it resembles far more what one might expect to see in a traditional book of mathematics pedagogy than in a book about mathematics evaluation. The authors views are not wholly idiosyncratic.
The observational study uses data on teacher effectiveness from our own school district and from the National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA). NCEA scores are used in the federal Comprehensive Assessment Program for Diplomas, or CAPD, which is a standardized test of teacher knowledge in about 100 subjects. NCEA scores are widely used in teacher evaluation programs in the nation. Such scores are based on the performance of all the teachers in each subject area. NCEA scores are used in the vast majority of states to evaluate teachers. For each subject area, an aggregate NCEA score is calculated on a 100-point scale. 3d9ccd7d82
